The French Food among us Filipinos is normally associated with expensive fine-dining. We picture French food the way it is served at Claude’s Le Cafe de Ville here in Davao, but a few days ago, I got a pleasant surprise. Salads and sandwiches are among my favorite foods for lunch, and I am happy that I have found a French Sandwicherie that delivers directly to your door. They mainly offer salads and sandwiches, but take note, at very affordable prices.
The owners are my high school classmate Joan with working experience from several restaurants, her French husband together with another Frenchman, and his Filipino wife. Their little kitchen and outdoor serving area are located at Ruby St. in Sto. Niño Village, Matina, but they are focusing most on delivery.
I took my husband with me for a Saturday lunch and tried their best-sellers. The Pietmontese Salad became my instant favorite. It consisted of boiled potatoes, boiled eggs, pickles, ham, mayonnaise, and parsley with a tomato slice on the top. I was stupid enough to let my husband have a taste, and he ate all of it, haha.
I also ordered Mixed Salad containing iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, seasoning, plus additional balsamic dressing. It was very fresh and tasty.
I tried was one of their sandwiches, The Countryman. I forgot to ask why it was named as such. Their French baguette consisting of grilled chicken, lettuce, mayonnaise, and tomato was large like it is for a hungry toiler, so that’s probably the explanation 🙂
They also have Rice Salad that includes rice, tuna, tomato, onion, pickles, and mayonnaise. As for the sandwiches, they have The Parisien – forest ham and butter, The Européen – ham toast, cheese, mayonnaise, The Classic Tuna – tuna, egg, tomato, mayonnaise, The Vegetarian – cheese, tomato, eggplant, radish, cucumber, bell pepper, The American – grilled beef strips, pickles, tomato, mayonnaise.
They also make the Sandwich of the Week, like this Croque Monsieur.
By the way, Sandwicherie’s mayonnaise is home-made. They want to offer affordable authentic French sandwiches and salads; their bread and pastries came from the best bakery in town while their vegetables and dairy ingredients are sourced from local organic farms. To deliver the food, they use an electric bike.
For Php 200, you can get a baguette sandwich, a salad plus a drink. They offer free delivery for P200 and above orders. Drinks are mostly mineral water, bottled soft drinks, and ice tea. For desserts, you have choices like brownies, ice cream, cookies, and mini Nutella sandwiches.
They cater to parties, birthdays, catering groups, special menu, and wholesale orders. You can contact them through these numbers: 295-2820 or 09082260953. Enjoy!

French eat at that price, is unique in Davao. Do not hesitate to enjoy. Especially since the shares being horribly hearty, you can easily share with others.
