Norway has several hidden valleys where it is still possible to encounter both Trolls and Goblins. They are remnants of a mythological kingdom that once covered Northern Europe. These valleys are as visionary and spiritual as they are physical and geographical, making them difficult to find. But it’s not impossible. With the right mindset, anyone can learn to tune into the level of consciousness that grants access to these fantastic places. Some take shortcuts and use magic mushrooms, but this is not recommended. If you are in the right place, there are certainly Trolls around you. The only sustainable way is to train yourself to cut ties with thoughts of the past, present, and future and then let nature around you take over completely.
It’s wise to start gently, preferably in deciduous forests where unexplained singing and music have been heard. There, the chances are highest to meet friendly trolls, like this Troll father with three daughters found on the border between Telemark and Vestfold.
Wait with Østerdalen and dense spruce forests until you master handling your fear of encountering creatures like this troll found in the areas around Tolga.
The most dissatisfied trolls are found on the West Coast. It certainly has something to do with the weather. This type is typical for Sogn og Fjordane.
Further south in Rogaland, you can still find trolls that have turned to stone because they were exposed to direct sunlight.
But as previously mentioned: Start in deciduous forests. The chances are greatest there for a fun encounter like this flower-hunting troll from Aust Agder.
Or like here outside Larvik, where a young woman makes a Troll laugh so heartily that his beard begins to glow. Such magical moments are possible. Take a walk in the woods and open yourself to the miracles around you.
